The late Bhobesh Saikia Memorial Aiidesh Best Journalist Award 2024 ( State Level ) has been conferred upon senior journalist Mahesh Agarwal from Bokakhat, and the ‘Aiidesh Young Achiever Award 2024 (District Level) has been awarded to renowned birdwatcher Rafikul Islam from Kaziranga.

The late Bhobesh Saikia Memorial Aiidesh Best Journalist Award 2024 (State Level) has been conferred upon senior journalist Mahesh Agarwal from Bokakhat, and the  Aiidesh Young Achiever Award 2024 ( Distric Level )  to renowned birdwatcher Rafikul Islam from Kaziranga.

In 2017, under the initiative of Assam’s prominent online news organization Aiidesh, the names of the recipients of the Aiidesh Awards for 2024 were officially announced today in memory of late Bhobesh Saikia, a senior journalist from Bokakhat, founder president of the All Assam Press Correspondents Union (APCU), and the Bokakhat Press Club.

In a meeting held today in Bokakhat, a seven-member selection committee finalized the recipients. The Bhobesh Saikia Memorial Aiidesh Best Journalist Award 2024 at the state level will be conferred upon senior journalist Mahesh Agarwal of Bokakhat, who is also the founding secretary of the Bokakhat Press Club and a journalist for Dainik Purboday. At the district level, the Bhobesh Saikia Memorial Best Young Achiever Award 2024 at the district will be presented to Rafikul Islam, a notable environmental activist, leading birdwatcher, and tour operator from Kaziranga's Bochagaon.

Mahesh Agarwal has been contributing to journalism for 36 years, maintaining consistency in his service to the field while also making contributions to Hindi literature. Similarly, Rafikul Islam has established himself as one of the nation’s foremost birdwatchers and has been actively working toward bird conservation and raising awareness about the preservation of avian habitats.

It is noteworthy that on January 16, 2025. during the 96th birth anniversary and memorial meeting of late Bhobesh Saikia in Bokakhat, these two awards will be formally presented. According to the organizer of the Aiidesh Awards, the awards will include a commemorative plaque, a cash prize, and a certificate of appreciation.
