The army seizes a Pakistani terrorist in the Uri Sector, another killed in an infiltration attempt.
The Indian Army captured a Pakistani intruder in the Uri area of Jammu and Kashmir and killed another. Military sources say a Pakistani terrorist has been captured in Uri.
The captured Pakistani terrorist was part of a recent infiltration attempt that started in September 18-19, the sources say. Sources also said that the army was able to make contact with infiltrators at three different locations in the past two days. One of the Pakistani spies is believed to have died in the clash while the army is looking for the others. Four soldiers were shot injured during a firefight between the army and fighters in the Uri sector along the Line of Control (LoC). On Saturday, noticing suspicious movement, the army began a counter-infiltration operation along a communication line in the Uri sector. "Four soldiers were injured in a shootout with infiltrators by the LK in Uri," officials said. According to them, the scouts were questioned by Indian army soldiers, which led to a fire exchange.
Officials said four soldiers have been injured by shelling between the two sides in the past two days. The army last week thwarted an attempt to infiltrate near the LoC in the Jammu-Kashmir region of Baramullah, killing three terrorists and recovering a large supply of weapons and ammunition.
