The Impact of Bharat Bandh by Farmers
Farmers have called for 'Bharat Bandh' in an act to protest against the three agricultural laws imposed by the Centre on 27th September,2021. In many states, including Delhi, farmers are sitting by blocking the road and also the Delhi-Amritsar Highway. The impact of Bharat Bandh is massive, the site of which can also be felt in several states of India like Punjab and Haryana.
In an attempt to support the farmers, Delhi Congress President Anil Chaudhary reached Ghazipur. But, the farmers didn't accepted this support as they cannot allow any politician or any political party to remain at the site of the agitation.
Upon seeing the view of Bharat Bandh the Delhi Police closed all major roads which caused traffic jam in many part of the city. The roads around the Red Fort as well as the double carriageway along the Ghazipur border have been closed for traffic. Due to the blocking of NH 24 and 9 by the protesters, commuters coming from Sarai Kale Khan can go to Noida via Vikas Marg for Ghaziabad and DND. Ghazipur border is closed from both sides. One can use DND Flyway, Vikas Marg, Signature Bridge and Wazirabad Road to travel between UP and Delhi.
In the midst of the protest, a farmer, Bhagel Ram collapsed due to heart attack and was also confired dead during the sitting on the Singhu border. Bhagel Ram was reported to a 54 years old farmer residing in Jalandhar.
