Assam Honors Visionaries with Parivesh Mitra Awards 2024
GUWAHATI : The Department of Science, Technology, and Climate Change, Government of Assam, has announced the recipients of the prestigious Parivesh Mitra (Friend of Conservation) award for 2024. This esteemed recognition is conferred upon individuals who have made outstanding contributions to conservation, art, and environmental awareness.
Among the five distinguished personalities selected for this honor is Mr. Uttam Saikia, a renowned wildlife conservationist and journalist (columnist) from Bokakhat. His tireless efforts in preserving Assam's rich biodiversity and promoting environmental consciousness have earned him this well-deserved recognition.
The other recipients of this esteemed honor are Dr. Anil Kumar Goswami, Retired Principal of Cotton College( Guwahati ) , Dr. Dulal Chandra Goswami, a respected environmentalist from Guwahati; Shri Jayanta Kumar Das, an active conservationist from Udalguri; and Shri Jayanta Kumar Sarma, a dedicated environmental advocate from Guwahati.
The announcement was made through a press release issued by the Director’s Office of the Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTE Council), Guwahati.
The Parivesh Mitra Award celebrates individuals who inspire and lead the way in environmental stewardship, highlighting Assam’s commitment to sustainable development and conservation.
