The price of petrol hit century in Guwahati.

After hitting century in different state of India, the price of petrol also reached to century in Guwahati. Paise by paise the price of petrol reached to Rs. 100 per litre in the capital of Assam.  The continuous rise in the price of fuels has caused a huge havoc among the consumer. Since, the Government of India has put a new taxation on fuel, people are in rage as how a normal citizen can afford such drastic change in price which continues to rise every often. Amid the condition of Covid-19 in the world in which the economy has suffered a lot, it’s also the people that have suffered a lot.

Senior Congress leader Debabrata Saikia, leader of the opposition in the Assam legislative assembly, said, “This government has failed to curb the price hike not only in fuel but also in LPG cylinders and kitchen essentials. The BJP government is least bothered about the poor section of society. Prices of LPG and fuel have spiked constantly. The Congress has been continuously raising its voice against the price rise and staging protests. But the government has not given any heed to the concerns of the common people.” The Assam wing of the CPM has also demanded that the government curb price hike in fuel as well as LPG and kitchen essentials.
