'AAMOTHU' – A Soulful Journey Beyond the Sky Above

A tribute that redefines love, memory, and innovation. There are songs that move you, and then there are songs that transcend you. "AAMOTHU" is the latter — a stirring, ground-shaking tribute from friendship, love, and eternal gratitude, wrapped in the cutting-edge language of art and technology.

"AAMOTHU" – A Soulful Journey Beyond the Sky Above

"AAMOTHU" : A Tribute Song to Zubeen Garg by His Classmates and long term Friends

Released on November 15, 2025, on YouTube, this homage to the legendary Zubeen Garg isn’t just a song ; it is an emotion rendered infinite in a sky that never ends aligned with his upcoming 53rd birthday (18-11-2025).

Born from the dreams of three of Zubeen’s dearest friends and childhood classmates — Atonu Gautam, Ritun Bardalaye, and Anupam Bhobesh Saikia — "AAMOTHU" captures something that lies beyond sound. Composed and sung by Atonu, with lyrics by Ritun and direction and visual concept by Anupam, this work breathes sincerity.

The audio is mixed and mastered by Rhitwik Raj Pathak (Mumbai), a talented professional who has worked on major Bollywood blockbusters such as Drishyam 2 (2022), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Kick (2014) and many more.

It’s intimate yet universal, nostalgic yet forward-looking.

In a world of quick cuts and shifting scenery, "AAMOTHU" defies norms with a single-shot, no-edit video created entirely in Virtual Reality. It’s the first of its kind — a cinematic poem unfolding through an infinite digital sky, where dreams, memories, and music blend into movement. The camera floats endlessly, as if searching for Zubeen amidst the stars, and in that motion, one feels his presence — never gone, always guiding.

Anupam Bhobesh Saikia, Founder and CEO of Metavian Technologies, imagined the night as Zubeen’s realm — a place where dreams dare to travel freely. His concept of “drifting through endless darkness, guided by the moon” forms the film’s beating heart. In making this happen, the team at Metavian wove together art and advanced VR technology not as a gimmick, but as a vessel for memory — luminous and immersive.

This isn’t nostalgia trapped in the past. It’s remembrance reborn through technology, much like how — "The Lion King" redefined virtual filmmaking. But "AAMOTHU" takes it a step further — transforming the VR production process itself into art. It’s both a song and a vision test, a preview of a full VR experience to come, set to premiere globally.

“He prefers the nights,” Anupam reflects, “avoiding the chaos of the day called life.” That one line captures Zubeen Garg — the DREAMER, the REBEL, the NIGHT TRAVELER who taught generations to feel deeply, brutally, honestly and live freely.

A new and innovative tribute to legendary musician Zubeen Garg has been released with the launch of "AAMOTHU", a song composed, arranged, and sung by Mumbai-based renowned guitarist Atonu Gautam, with lyrics by Ritun Bardalaye. The music video, created entirely using Virtual Reality (VR), is now available on YouTube now.

Early responses call "AAMOTHU" emotional, haunting, and breathtaking — words that still don’t quite capture its power. Because "AAMOTHU" doesn’t just commemorate Zubeen Garg. It keeps him alive — in light, in sound, and in every digital ripple of its endless sky.

How The Lion King (2019) Revolutionized Filmmaking with VR-Powered Virtual Production.

The Hollywood blockbuster “The Lion King” (2019) is widely recognized as one of the first major films to use a Virtual Reality–supported approach during production. The entire set of scenes was created in a digital 3D CGI world, where cinematographers used VR techniques to enter the virtual environment, operate virtual cameras, arrange scenes, and explore sets much like real-world filmmaking. The visuals were then captured digitally through these virtual cameras and later integrated into the post-production workflow. It is important to note that the movie itself was not designed for VR viewing, but the production process took place inside a virtual space — a groundbreaking approach at that time.
