Discussion on Preparations for Possible Flood Situation in Bokakhat Co-District .

A meeting was held today in the conference hall of the Bokakhat Co district commissioner’s office regarding necessary preparations to face possible flood situations during the rainy season and the measures to be taken afterwards. Co District commissioner Shivani Jerngal presided over the meeting and stated that tackling flood situations is not the responsibility of any single department, but rather requires coordinated efforts from multiple departments. Only through such integrated efforts can disasters be effectively managed.
The meeting discussed preparations to be undertaken for potential floods, responsibilities of different departments, and related aspects. The Co-district Commissioner instructed all concerned departments to immediately inform the administration about any damage caused during floods or other natural disasters. She directed the Health Department to stock essential medicines, sanitary napkins, etc., and the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department to ensure adequate fodder is stored so that domestic animals do not suffer from food shortages during floods. She also instructed vaccination of livestock.
The Co-district Commissioner emphasized the importance of ensuring pure drinking water, sufficient food supplies, scientific sanitation facilities, and child-friendly arrangements in relief camps.
Today’s meeting was attended by Golaghat Additional Deputy Commissioner and acting Circle Officer of Bokakhat Subdivision, Debahuti Deka, along with Bokakhat Co-district Assistant Officers Subhajit Khound, Deepti Rekha Hazarika, Ankita Baruah, Gulzar Hussain, and other heads of relevant departments.
