13-Year-Old Girl Raped By Father In Mumbai's Thane Region

Mumbai: Even amidst the pandemic, criminal offenses are on the rise. A thirteen-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her own father in Mumbai. The victim's mother is a pavement dweller and she was the one who filed the petition. The young girl was raped at her aunt's residence in Mumbai's Thane region. The father of the young girl threatened her, but she confided in her aunt and narrated the story.

As the girl started showing signs of weakness, she was taken to the hospital for treatment. The family got to know about the girl's pregnancy at the hospital. As per the ultrasonography, the young girl is 22 weeks pregnant.

The petition mentions that the young girl comes from a humble background and the mother cannot afford the expenses of raising a child. According to the petition, it would be unlawful to endure the pregnancy as it would affect the mental and physical health of the victim.

The petition has insisted the court arrange a medical panel. This will help them to arrive at a decision.
