Despite the lockdown situation, vehicles are getting stolen from Mumbai. As per the data released by the Mumbai Police, five vehicles are being stolen each day. In total, there have been 158 cases of stolen vehicles during the lockdown situation.

The figures are valid for May month. In April, there were 84 such cases of theft.

Currently, the entire city is following strict instructions of the authorities. There has been no chain snatching case in the month of April. However, in May, two chain snatching cases were reported. The police saw a rise in molestation cases, but house break-ins were not reported. In April, there were 36 molestation cases and in May, the numbers went up to 56. Even amidst lockdown situation, 36 rape cases have been filed since April.

Speaking of vehicle theft, most of them were bikes as two-wheelers are easier to steal. Considering the deprivation and desperation during the lockdown, the thieves are selling the bikes for as low as INR 5000. Mumbai police also mentioned that the parts are being sold for a meagre price.

The world is going through immense displeasure and discomfort. The need of the hour is to focus on mental health.
