Apple's Vision Pro, priced at $3,499, ( Approximately at Rs. 290,000/- )  is scheduled for release on February 2, with preorders starting January 19, 2024, as officially revealed on the Apple website.

Despite being unveiled over seven months ago, the device faces a marketing challenge due to limited battery life, an unwieldy design, and the absence of standout applications.

Expecting an initial surge in sales from early adopters, Apple has directed retail stores to allocate double the inventory space during the Vision Pro's opening weekend. Unlike previous launches, convincing consumers to embrace the unfamiliar experience of wearing a mixed-reality headset poses a distinct challenge.

To address this, Apple has devised a comprehensive sales strategy, including a 25-minute demo at retail locations. The demo involves hands-on calibration exercises, showcasing features like spatial photos, 3D movies, and the device's potential as a computer replacement.

Ensuring a personalized experience, the demo includes a face scan for the correct light seal, foam cushion, and band size. Apple has advised customers to use Face ID for a facial scan during the pre-order process, especially for those who wear prescription glasses, requiring a prescription for Zeiss-made optical inserts.

The Vision Pro Headset will be available for in-store demos on the launch day, starting at 8:00 am on February 2. Interested individuals can sign up for in-store demos at their local Apple Stores in the US, available until February 5 on a first-come, first-served basis.

For online buyers, the face scan system facilitates bundling and shipping. Additionally, Apple is ensuring optimal experiences for product reviewers through two in-person sessions.

While the Vision Pro's short-term success remains uncertain due to its high price and design challenges, Apple seems to be laying the groundwork for future success as the product evolves with improved features and reduced costs.
