Former governor of Bihar Devananda Konwar passed away today at Guwahati.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal expressed grief at the demise of the governor. Sonowal tweeted: "Saddened to learn about the demise of former Governor of Bihar, WB & Tripura and former Assam Minister Devananda Konwar. My sincere condolences to the bereaved family members and well-wishers."
Konwar took oath as Bihar governor on Jun 29, 2009. Konwar was a four time legislator from Assam. He served as the finance minister in the Tarun Gogoi-led government.
