Freshers’ Welcome Ceremony at Bokakhat’s C N B Senior Secondary School: Donation of Books and Cupboards by Retired NERIST Professor Dr. Nidhuban Dev.

At the library of Chandra Nath Bezbarua College and its Senior Secondary School branch, a total of 270 valuable books and two cupboards were donated on 16th May by Dr. Nidhuban Dev, retired professor of the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Arunachal Pradesh.  

Dr. Dev, a resident of Bokakhat who taught for many years in Arunachal Pradesh before retiring, has continued to contribute to the academic field of Bokakhat after his retirement. Today, he attended the Freshers’ Welcome Ceremony of Chandra Nath Bezbarua Senior Secondary School as the chief guest and delivered an address to the students.  

The event was attended by Dr. Surajit Dutta, Principal of Chandra Nath Bezbarua Science College; Dr. Phalgun Chetia, Acting Principal of the Senior Secondary School; former Principal Sarat Dutta; school management committee members Apurba Bordoloi, Hariprasad Nath, and Sarat Ranjan Sharma; along with all teachers, staff, and students.  

During the ceremony, meritorious students were felicitated: Ayusmit Raj Kashyap, who secured distinction in the Science stream with 90.88%, and Alka Deka and Champa Chaotal, who achieved 88.22% in the Arts stream.  

On this occasion, Dr. Nidhuban Dev formally handed over more than a hundred books on Physics along with a cupboard to the college library, and more than a hundred books on Political Science along with a cupboard to the school library. Everyone expressed gratitude to Dr. Dev for his generosity.
